There are a number of default settings that InterNews needs to know to work at a particular site. There are also some settings that you can use to customize InterNews for yourself or other users at your site. When you launch InterNews for the first time, it will present a dialog box to get the required values from you before it can proceed. It stores those values in a file named "InterNews Config" in the Preferences folder. If there is another configuration file in the InterNews folder, that file will take precedence.
There are four panels in the Site Defaults dialog window. These are described in general terms here. For reminders when using the dialog, you can move the mouse over each one and read the text that appears in the help box.
